The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica is a track engine dressed for the street
Stuck at the mechanic again while they "wait on a part" for your old Ford? Here's a better thing to stare at. The Huracán Tecnica takes the V10 from Lamborghini's race-bred Huracán STO, sends it to the rear wheels only, and wraps it in a body that's meant to be driven on the road every day and on a track on the weekend. Lamborghini revealed it on April 12, 2022, and showed it in New York City for its North American debut.
Where the Tecnica fits
Lamborghini placed the Tecnica between the Huracán EVO RWD and the track-focused STO. It gets the STO's 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 with 640 CV (about 631 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 565 Nm (417 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm. That's 30 CV more than the EVO RWD. Power goes through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels, and rear-wheel steering helps it turn in quickly. Lamborghini quotes a dry weight of 1,379 kg (3,040 lb).
The details that give it away
- The front bumper has black "Y" shapes borrowed from the Terzo Millennio concept, with an air curtain, a first on a Huracán.
- The hood is carbon fiber, and there's a black band at the base of the windshield.
- The car is 6.1 cm (2.4 in) longer than the Huracán EVO, with a profile Lamborghini says was inspired by the Essenza SCV12.
- Out back there's a vertical rear window you can actually see out of, a carbon fiber engine cover, hexagonal exhaust tips and a fixed wing.
- Lamborghini says the new aero gives 35% more rear downforce and 20% less drag than the EVO RWD.
- The 20-inch Damiso wheels were inspired by the Lamborghini Vision GT concept.

Why the Tecnica turns heads
Darin's photo above is a bright green Tecnica outside Lamborghini Miami. You can spot the giveaways from here: the black "Y" shapes on each side of the nose, the black strip at the bottom of the windshield, and a carbon hood. Green Lamborghinis don't do subtle, and this one isn't trying.

In a city famous for potholes, that's a lot of car to steer around them.
